While the unit is showing signs of wear (the tile floor, maroon recliner, green porch furniture whose color rubs off on clothing, etc.), we do appreciate the new couch and other updates.

We had a great time at the Islander. The property is a little older but very well maintained. Only dissapointing thing was the elevator - so overall we were very happy.

Memorial Day Weekend Stay

We have been coming to the Islander for probably 10 years now and we absolutely love it. It is very family friendly and the location is great. Our recent stay however we found a few discrepancies. We stayed on the 6th floor and apparently someone had vomited on there way out of the elevator. This was there the second day we arrived, and stayed until we left. We had to pass it every time we went to the elevator. The second thing is that the girls bathroom at the pool area was not in clean condition at all. My wife and daughter complained of this for the first few days.
Overall we love the Islander and will definitely return. These were definitely isolated incidents, but you should at least be aware.

Generally we were very satisfied with our stay. Tess and eva were great as always. While we were generally happy with our unit, some of the furniture and flooring needs updating. We were disapointed that we couldn't stay longer than 3/14 without paying a premium. Also that we paid for half a month in March but were asked to leave after 14 nights of a 31-day month ~ this while being asked to pay for one day in December after arriving late on the 31st. We feel that we are owed a day.

Living room: Couch is faded and soiled; One pink chair is soiled and stained. We appreciate the TVs, Refrigerator, and dishwasher. Bed in master bedroom is very comfy. We like the MB shower. The Islander's "party room" is a BIG plus.

We had 4 units for family and bridal party. Both celebrations were outstanding!

Property Great

The actual property that I stayed in was great, but the people from Brooks and Shorey Resorts, Inc. were not professional. We booked our stay in Feb. 2008 at the Azure for June, and the day we arrived they decided to clean the carpet. We have a baby that was only crawling and they expected us to stay there when the carpet wouldn't be dry until the next day. No apologies, no discount, and definitely no compasion; just a shrug of the shoulders. The Islander was a great place to stay, just not we had booked. I would never use Brooks and Shorey again. They have no problem taking your payment in full when you book,let you drive 12 hours with two small children, and just say oops after their mistake and a long drive. This was Brooks and Shorey's problem not mine. You can use other property management places to stay at the Islander so make a wise choice and do so.

Accommandations were very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

hurricane shutters need new tie down straps, they bang in the wind day and night keeping you awake and or annoyed. otherwise, no problems.

Furniture (inside and out) is dated and showing signs of wear. Popcorn ceiling continually "snows". TV, refrigerator, and dishwasher are very nice. Table/Desk in living room was appreciated. TV in bedroom with trundle bed was not connected. We loved the stall shower in the master bath. Kitchen was well supplied.
