Guests at the Islander Beach Resort have access to one of Okaloosa Island's largest gulf-side pools, in addition to a relaxing outdoor hot tub, a shuffleboard court, and a barbeque grill area. The only problem we really had was during our first night the fire alarm went off and we didn't know what to do. But we finally looked outside and everyone was evacuating so we did the same. It wasn't a bother just out of the ordinary. But overall we had a fabulous time and we will be back to stay at the Islander.

We were on the 5th floor with my handicapped 76 yr old father and at one time both elevators were out. My husband and I shared the small bedroom with the queen size bed and the comforter was in poor condition and when we arrived the bed was rumpled. We have stayed with you all many times over the years and love the property but this time everyting seemed not as well cared for as in the past.

The couches were dirty and the carpet was dirty. The manager was very nice and had someone come clean the carpet. They sprayed the carpet with a solution and then went over the carpet with a mop looking attachment. Never used water to suck up the dirt. I would recommend Stanley Steamer come to clean the carpets. Next time we visit I will ask for a condo that has new carpet and furnishings. This is the second time we have visited the Islander and both times we were disappointed with cleanliness of the condo.

In the front bedroom, the light fixture fell off the ceiling fan onto the bed, and the curtain rod fell off the wall. Also the dryer has to be turned on more than once to dry clothes. Other than these minor problems, our stay was very nice. This was our 5th year to stay. I would recommend this property to anyone!

We have stayed with Brooks and Shorey many times over the years and had a wonderful experience. Our last visit we went to a condo at the Islander and the a/c was broken. The staff was helpful in finding us another condo to stay in but waiting for the key from the maid service was a challenge. In the end everything worked out and we enjoyed our visit.

Nice location, good unit with 3 bedrooms, reasonalbe price not highest but not lowest either. Property was no as modern as newer units now available on Okaloosa Island, tired and old looking. enjoyed visit and view from upper ;eve; was nice, beach good, complimentary beach chairs nice. Master bed king mattress old and tired very uncomfortable noisy squeaked and TV,s need to be upgraded to flat screens.

There was some damage in one of the bathrooms from the previous guests. Guest services was very helpful, came and took pictures, etc. It was a great stay. The coupons provided for the dolphin cruise were nice too.
Islander - Fort Walton Beach

Good property on a great beach. Check-in is off site so it's a bit inconvenient. We've stayed here several times and never had any problems. One guest failed to put a swim diaper on their child, resulting in poop in the pool. This caused the pool to be closed for a couple of days. Inconvenient but not the property manager's fault.

We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. The staff at Brooks & Shorey were very helpful and always courteous. One of my daughters had left an item in our condo and made a call to Brooks & Shorey when we returned to Tennessee. They recovered the item and returned it to us. The condo was very nice, just a few steps from the beach and had everything we needed. We have rented before through Brooks & Shorey, though this was our first stay at the Islander. We have always had a good experience with these folks.
We have stayed in this unit at least three times, maybe four and loved in past, however this trip, the unit was in poor shape.

Specific things that were wrong is master bed mattress is lumpy. The bathroom floors were dirty, being the grout was dirty, especially around the toilets. The dishwasher is about to come out of the wall. The silk plants had lots of dust on them. The carpet looked dirty. In general the unit needs some investment and a deep cleaning.
Not only was this stay great,we continue to come back to the Islander!It's tradition now!My parents along with my sister and I and our families plan a get together at the beach at least once a year,and it's a given that we'll stay at the Islander!

From our experience from the time we checked in to the lobby in which we had our reception, we had a wonderful experience. Everyone who joined us for our wedding that stayed at the Islander, had nothing but great things to say about the establishment. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone looking to vacation in the Fort walton Beach, area
