We were thrilled with our new vacation spot. The condo was very comfortable. I do wish there were some basics vacation / beach items available like games and beach buckets. The movie rental was nice. The kitchen could have been stocked with minamully sugar, salt and pepper, dishwasher detergent and dish soap. Please check the dryer duct. Filled with lint and could be a fire hazard.

We loved our stay at Island Princess Condo. This is our second year staying in Unit 604. The unit is in a wonderful location. It exciting to watch the dolphins from the balcony.
On the negative side I would suggest that the whole unit needs to be painted. This would freshen everything up and enhance the beauty of the unit.
We had a wonderful time at the beach and we will be back.

We were very satisfied with our stay in unit 604, however, the walls are looking tired and could be freshend up with a coat of paint. The kitchen was missing a hand mixer and a dutch oven.
We will return to this beautiful part of Florida.
We were very pleased with our stay in Unit 604 and plan on returning next winter.

The unit is in good shape and the view is wonderful.
Note: The kitchen is missing a hand mixer and a medium size sauce pan.

Mostly, great
A Traveler from Mt. Juliet, TN, United States, (Reviewed on 15 Sep 2009)
I have a few issues with things. one big issue was - in the guest shower, you can only get burning hot or freezing cold water, and that has to be fixed now. Also, there were some hairs, a huge dead roach and other smaller not-perfectly-clean things. I know the owners stayed there Labor Day weekend, so I don't know if a cleaner was in after that. This is the first condo. I have ever stayed in that had no spices, and i just wish i had know that to bring my own. I also found a much better price in a local publication, and that was very disappointing. i would like to think I could get the best price online. Otherwise, it was good.
I hope to stay here many more times!

Island Princess Unit #604
A Traveler from Stittsville, ON, United States, (Reviewed on 31 Mar 2009)
We enjoyed our 10 week stay at Island Princess. Unit 604 is in a great location and is furnished in beachy colours which makes for a lovely setting. However, the blue lazy boy chair has a foul smell to it. The chair should be replaced or deep cleaned. The tiles and rugs throughout the unit need to be professionaly cleaned. Other than these two complaints we felt the unit was excellent.
Our other complaint was that we could not extend our stay past March 15th at the winter rate. I understand from neighbours that Resort Quest and other rental agencies do rent their units out if there is not a reservation pending at the winter rate. In future I would like to see Brooks and Shorey change their policy to match other rental agencies in extending snowbirds the opportunity to stay after school break (a couple of days or weeks) at the winter rate if the unit has not been reserved.
I might also mention that your 1-800 number is not accessable from our telephone exchange in Ontario. When we were reserving last summer we had to make several calls to your office and at that time we reported that the number dis not work. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.

The lasy boy chair in the living room needs to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned, it has a terrible smell to it. The tile floors need professional cleaning. Taps in the kitchen sink rattle when water is turned on.

This condo has great views of the beach and a good sized balcony. Pool is too small for the number of condos and was too crowded to use. Condo was not as clean as expected with mould on bathroom tiles and kitchen faucet, shabby baseboards and dirty grout in most used areas of floor tiles. Also, there was less equipment than you normally find in rentals (only one hanger in the whole condo and lack of kitchen utensils).
Great place to stay

We loved our stay in 2007 so we have booked the same room for the fall of 2008.

This is my second stay at Island Princess in the past 5 years. Our first stay was great but this one wasn't that great. The problems I had was the black mold all in the condo. It was on the refrigerator around the front door and the bathrooms just to name a few places. You could actually smell it. Have had sinus problems every since. Also the elevators could use some air. You could die in there.
My stay at Island Princess

We enjoyed our stay at Island Princess Room 604 very much. It did rain everyday we were there but we made the best of it. We went while the seaweed was bad also but it did not stop my daughter and her friend from going swimming. We will definately be ging back.
Relaxing Vacation
Carol C. from Cuba, MO, United States, (Reviewed on 29 Jul 2008)
There were only very minor problems with the condo. It was very quite and relaxing with a wonderful view. Great amount of room in the condo and looked beautiful. The amenities people were NOT helpful as each time we called we got a negative person and was unable to use any of the amenities outside of our location. We could only rent movies and we can do that at home. Wanted to use the fishing and when we booked on our own the boat cancelled the trip so were were unable to do one of the major thing that we went to Florida to do. We could not swim in the beach due to the storm out in the Gulf and the Jelly Fish coming to shore. Went home very disappointed, but did love the housing and would like to stay there again.

Island Princess 604
A Traveler from Gadsden, Alabama, United States, (Reviewed on 13 May 2008)
The way the condo was decorated was so fun...perfect for a vacation. The only problem we had was that whoever had been doing the housekeeping only dusted the front, most accessible areas of the furniture. Thick dust covered the backs of all the tables and was even in the corners on the floors...Not too great for anyone with allergies.

Poorly stocked, drain problems

Kitchen was poorly stocked, cookware needed replacing. Both tubs drained so slowly you were standing in knee-high water to shower.
Disappointed
A Traveler from Rogers, AR, United States, (Reviewed on 09 Apr 2008)
This was our 6th stay @ Island Princess, so you can assume that we truly like the property. We enjoy staying in different units just for variety. I must say that this is the first time we have rented through Brooks and Shorey Resorts, Inc. The unit (#604) was beautifully decorated in vibrant colors and we personally chose this unit because of the pictures displayed on the website. However, upon checking into the unit itself, it was the absolute dirtiest one we have ever stayed in! It turns out that the vacumn cleaner had a major clog which my husband fixed...using a table knife I might add. I couldn't tell you when the last time the unit had been truly cleaned other than dusted. I had to literally buy cleaning supplies and clean the condo myself before I could even sleep. When finally resolving the vacumn situation, I vacumned up a half of an entire Wal-Mart sack of dirt. The plumbing fixtures were absolutely corroded & I used a lot of elbow grease & Comet to get the filth off of them (2 bathrooms & kitchen sink). The tile floor was also very dirty, there were coffee drips & other unknowns on the cabinet fronts in the kitchen. The knick-knacks (which I must admit were cute) were dirty/dusty. The tile backsplash in the tub/showers were rather disgusting as well. I would most definetly FIRE the cleaning crew for this unit. Our stay was better after we cleaned, but driving for 14 hours and then walking into this unit did not make me happy. If I had wanted to Spring Clean, I would have stayed home! Oh, and when going into Brooks and Shorey the next morning to do some paperwork, my husband took the Wal-Mart sack w/ him. They insinuated that he was lying & acted as if they didn't believe him. They did reimburse him a percentage of a nights stay which totaled about $35. I will not use this rental company again nor would I stay in this particular unit again. Everything else about the Island Princess is wonderful & we will stay there again.
Lovely Condo
A Traveler from Ooltewah, TN, United States, (Reviewed on 09 Apr 2008)
We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Island Princess. The property was very nice and the condo was great for us. The unit was in a very good location - close enough to an elevator, high for nice views, far enough away from the noise of the pool, etc. We certainly enjoyed the use of the beach chairs and umbrellas. We had not been to the area before and if we were to go back to the Panama City/Destin/Ft. Walton vicinity, I believe we would definitly stay at Okaloosa Island. We enjoyed the lack of traffic and congestion. We also found Helen Back restaurant - great pizza! There are a lot of places to choose from, but this one is very comfortable and had everything you would want in a home away from home.
