We had a marvelous time - the unit location was great - the weather, beach and water were fabulous! The only "disappointment" was the condition of the unit. The cleaning service needs to be reviewed

I have stayed at the IP before and our previous room was in much better condition. The couch was dirty and fabric was coming off. Was unable to wash my infants bottles because a drain was not provided. Enjoyed the pool and two level parking. Great location. I would recommend the condo but not the room.
wonderful vacation stay

We have stayed on brooks and shorey resorts for 6 years now and I have to say that was the worst room we have ever stayed in. The furniture had holes in it, the beds was very uncomfortable, my mom found a rag behind the nightstand that looked like it was years old. I believe for $420.00 a night the room should be a lot better. We have stayed at Holiday Inns that was alot better than that. We will be back in July. And we will stay at the Islander. I do pray we never have to stay there again.
Spring Break 09

The main issue I had was when we got there there was a leak coming in from the condo above us. One bathroom was extremely wet. Water was dripping from above. We put towels down. I called the emergency line and the manager was unable to get ahold of the people responsible for the above condo. The drip lasted Saturday and Sunday. It was manageable but unpleasant. When you pay $2000+ for a 3 bedroom condo you don't really want water dripping from above. Although it was not Brooks & Shoreys fault (everyone was helpful and sympathetic) I still think I should get some sort of compensation. I have rented a condo from Brooks & Shorey the last 2 years. Thank you for your time.

There were several light bulbs out in our unit. Also the inside door between the "twin" bedroom and bath did not lock - this presented a problem with children in the "twin" room.

Carrie G. from Clinton, TN, United States
I have a small child the floors turned her legs and feet brown from all the dirt, there was potato chips under the couch, paint was chipping off the walls, the elevator was extemely slow and out of order most of out stay. we have used Brooks and Shorey about 4 times before this stay and this will be our last time because we need cleaner accomodations
Great!

The property was in great condition. We had a wonderful time. I do wish I had known how to check in. For some reason I did not get the instructions and we were late arriving. The number I called answer right away and gave me directions and then called to check on us. Very Nice!
Worst room in 30 years of visiting Fort Walton Beach
Bambi W. from Metairie, LA, United States
The room was disgusting. There was mold growing in the sink, the couches were torn, there was sand on the floors and in the master bed. The bathrooms were dirty and one had a hole in the wall. I spent several hours of the first day cleaning the place up. I complained loudly and wanted my money back. I asked to be moved and there was some problem with that also. I think the room they wanted us to be moved to would only be available for a few days and we were there for a week. The faucet in the kitchen was DUCT TAPED together. I took pictures but recently deleted them because it had been almost a year since we were there. I figured if you didn't respond before that time there really was no use in complaining. My 9 year old daughter left a WebKinz stuffed animal on the bed. We called immediately and "it was never found" that is complete bull. I am sure a cleaning person or someone else associated with this terrible place took it. I would never return to this property. Just so you know - my family has been coming to Ft. Walton since my parents were married - 57 years ago. I have been coming every summer for my 52 years. I have told everyone I know, probably about 200 people or more, to stay away from this dirty, disgusting property.

Business Stay (DoD Civilian)

I was plesantly surprised that I was afforded vary spacious accomodations for my government business trip. Generally we get quarters tucked away in the worst rooms an establishment has to offer, but at the Island Princess I was extremely satisifed with everything offered.

2 yrs ago when we stayed here it was very clean but a little outdated. Last year when we was filthy and in need of lots of tlc! The kitchen faucet was medical taped together. All floors were dirty and carpet was crunchy. Bathrooms had to be cleaned to be used. Unless alot of work was done, I would not stay in this particular condo again. However, we are staying @ the Island Princess but in another unit with another rental agency. Please contact us when your cleaning staff has changed and the unit has been revamped. Thanks
Island Princess 309 - needs renovation
Steve K. from Jacksonville, Fl, United States
The property is in great need of renovation. The furniture and carpet are old, worn out and dirty. I did not get a sense that the unit itself was particularly clean overall; which is very important to me, particularly when travelling with my young girls. Management was very understanding and tried to locate an alternative for us; unfortunately nothing suitable was available. I will use and recommend Brooks and Shorey again, but will not request this unit.

The management personnel were very helpful and friendly. We were originally in another unit and building which was too small because my son is confined to a wheelchair. The management personnel were able to find this unit which was much better and had an additional bedroom. We were not charged extra for moving out of the first unit after 11:00am and we were not charged for the incrimental difference for the upgraded unit.
