South Miami Beach, Florida
An extraordinary vacation on the beach!
Along a colorful 20 block walking boulevard inside Miami’s
historic Art Deco District, South Miami Beach features some
of Florida’s top restaurants, night clubs and theatres.
The long, wide sandy beach is a frequent hot spot of models,
celebrities and topless Europeans.
The Art Deco District of South Miami Beach is an eccentric
collage of over 800 buildings featuring pastel colors, funky
decorative moldings and retro curves. Built in the 1930’s
and revitalized in the 1980’s and 1990’s with
chic hotels, boutiques, clubs and restaurants, the swank and
trendy Art Deco District is a haven for hip youngsters, cool
seniors, Europeans, models and the gender benders.
With over 800 registered historical landmarks, the Art Deco
District area is renowned as a picture’s takers delight.
The wide boulevard of Ocean Drive from 1st to 20th street
is also a pleasure for those who enjoy walking. The district
takes on a series of changes from low-key lunch to festive
outdoor dinners and electric late night bar and club hopping.
Beyond the Art Deco District, South Beach is also famous
for its wide sandy beach. Whether you are seeking the perfect
tan or people watching, the South Beach offers a lot of scenery.
In particular, Europeans and model hopefuls flock to South
Beach as topless bathing is legal for those wishing to avoid
tan lines.
In addition to the beach and historic buildings, South Beach
also features a series of museums including the Bass Museum
of Art (European and progressive modern art), the Wolfsonia
Florida International University featuring a world class collection
of pop art and powerfully moving Holocaust Memorial.
